About Lion & Unicorn

Lion & Unicorn Players was formed in 1959 by a small group of people dedicated to theatre in Petersfield and the surrounding villages. 

The group has performed the 'classics' - the likes of Shakespeare, Wilde, Ibsen, Shaw, Christopher Fry (performances attended by the playwright himself) and more - but also new, exciting work, including plays written by our own members. 

Traditionally, we have performed in the Festival Hall in Petersfield, but we have also used The Studio@TPS, The Phoenix Theatre in Bordon, and, in recent years, have taken plays on tour, performing in a variety of venues from village halls and churches to the Rural Life Centre and the Great Roundhouse at Butser Ancient Farm.

We have a little home in Sheet; the Old Billiard Room, where our scenery and props are stored, and where many a laughter-laden hour is spent building sets.
